The Executive Producer is award winning producer and broadcaster JANE HAWTIN.
Jane Hawtin's career in radio began 25 years ago at CKLC in Kingston, Ontario.
It wasn't long before she was picked up by the fledgling Toronto rock station
Q107 sharpening her skills as host and executive producer on Barometer, a
daily magazine show. During her ten-year stint at Q107, she became Canada's
first female news director and first female talk show host. Switching to
Canada's number one radio station, CFRB 1010, the Jane Hawtin Show became the
number one noon hour program in the country.
While at CFRB, Jane was twice nominated for an ACTRA award as best radio interviewer.
In the Fall of 2002, Jane was introduced to the national audience of CBC radio
when she created, produced and hosted a 17 part series called STRANDED for
CBC radio one. Jane is also the permanent fill-in host on Metro Morning and Here and
Now.
In 1995, Jane made the jump to television as host/executive producer of Jane Hawtin
Live (WIC Television and WTN). The program received critical acclaim for raising
and debating issues of importance to Canadians. In 1998, her journalistic talents
were recognized with a Gemini nomination for Best Host/Interviewer. (The best of
Jane Hawtin Live continues to air daily on the Issues channel).
Jane used her television savvy to develop and produce a series of successful
television programs including Doctor on Call, Linehan, Caregiving with June
Callwood, Prime Business with Deirdre McMurdy, Teen Tribute TV, Liquid Soapz
and Road Scholars.
Jane is president of Road Scholars Productions Inc, Amberlight Productions Inc.
