Take a girl from the prairies who has never been on a plane, never been more than 50 miles from her farm, and send her to...let's say... Hawaii! On her first trip away from home Megan is ready for anything: surfing, sailing with a school of dolphins, hula dancing, swimming, hiking up a volcano, mountain biking on the lava fields, and eating weird and wacky food that definitely wasn't grown on the back 40. dive in

No outhouses, no tents, no nasty critters! Not for Skyler! He goes first class all the way in Martinique at an air-conditioned 4 star hotel with fabulous food and white sand beaches. What is the best way to learn biology? For Safiya it's in the living laboratory. She discovers that New Zealand has some of the most diverse plant and insect cultures in the world with wildlife and bird species dating back to the Jurassic period. But, of course, all work and no play would make Safiya a dull girl! Not to worry - she takes on some exciting first-time adventures: kayaking, sand sledding and dancing with the Maoris. paddle in

Boot, Saddle, Paddle. Get the picture? You sure find out what you're all about after a month of "No Trace" camping on this Road Scholars adventure. Warren hikes to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, hangs with the Navajo and goes on a 5-day cowboy ride through the high country to Colorado. True tests of Warren's stellar skills as an outdoorsman. But his biggest challenge? Keeping the peace with 11 other teenagers and his cranky horse Thunder. giddyup

Who knew there was such a thing as whip school? Lash bruised, Barb gets a lesson in wrangling from a one-eyed master on an outback ranch, then it's cow-milking and kangaroo feeding as the first part of her Australian adventure. City Slicker Barb is accustomed to singing in big concert halls. On this episode of Road Scholars, she'll test the acoustics in a bat cave, sleep on the beach under the stars and have nightmares about the sharks. Yikes! crack that whip!

You'd think that sailing would be old hat for a Nova Scotia boy like Erin but it's all brand new when he boards the Pure Indulgence in the British Virgin Islands. He quickly gets the hang of sleeping in a deck hammock, fishing off the back of the yacht and racing as part of a fleet of 12 yachts all manned by kids 14-18. He better love the sea because he won't be setting foot on land for almost 3 weeks. come sail away

As a diehard videographer, capturing the wildlife and ancient ruins in Belize is a dream come true for Lauren. A self-proclaimed bat lover, Lauren has no problem sleeping "rough" or hiking through the jungles. She thinks the scorpions, tarantulas, cockroaches, alligators, howler monkeys and all kinds of weird creatures are "cool". So who could have predicted that her biggest challenge in Belize would be homesickness?

Imagine going to Europe with a bunch of kids and being allowed to plan where you're going next and when. It's both a dream and a nightmare for Jennifer from Montreal. As one of the few bilingual kids on the trip, she spends a lot of her time translating for her American friends as they search for decent food, a clean camp site or try to find the next train to Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, and France.
